Soldier 05:24
He's made me a soldier in the war To show forth the light into the dark! He gives me the strength to stand and fight And nail the enemy in his eyes! When the walls are crashing in and out And there's no place to hide- Surrounded by all my foes Finding reasons to escape and hide Now there's a greater power that fights; You hear the thunder when you call His name There's lightning when you call his name He wont bring you shame, there's power and light!

Your Majesty 04:35
So many times I’ve failed but You have always loved me. Why don’t I realize the lamb was slain for me? And this is how I am and yet You chose to love me. Then how special can this love be to everyone? Faithful and loving, you hand was on your love child Inclined your ears to mine, and heard the sound of my cry! Your love is all I need to put my feet upon the rock; You set my feet a-dancing, a new song in my heart You find me mercy everyday of my life, You chose to be my master Let everything You’ve created know the power of your love and let them see Your majesty.

Superhero 06:41
Imagine a world of lights and visions The heart of a child, who loves and listens Looks up to him, as she paints a picture, knowing that it’ll be alright. Imagine a land of sounds and silence, Where colour drips into the art of innocence And every day the sun keeps getting brighter, showing that it’ll all be alright. ‘Cause he is her hero, no one else comes close Such is the love from a soul untold ‘Cause he is her hero, and she don’t need no more In this world, for this life, everybody needs a reason to smile Searching for it through the storm wind’s eye, Hoping to find the hero in my life. Heart of gold, pure through fire, Somebody told me about the small things in life. Its innocence; now makes so much sense, And I’m hoping to find the hero in my life. Imagine a world where time stands still: The mind of a child looking into the sky. She sees a star, giving her his light, and telling her to sleep into the night. Look at the trust she puts into that star, reaching out to a world so far And every night he shines just for her, Showing her that he guards her through the night. ‘Cause he is her hero, no one else comes close Such is the love from a soul untold ‘Cause he is her hero and she don’t need no more In this world, for this life, everybody needs a reason to smile Searching for it through the storm wind’s eye, Hoping to find the hero in my life. Heart of gold, pure through fire, Somebody told me about the small things in life. Its innocence: now makes so much sense, And I’m hoping to find the hero in my life.

I see the moonlight in the sky shining bright, Lucifer pretending: Lord of the Light! His forces are out to get my soul; But with God above I fear no evil. I’ve got to pick myself, hoping on this journey. I’m not afraid, nor am I confined to your chains! I’m gonna touch the sky, spread my wings and fly, I’m gonna show you that there’s hope for you and I. There came a man who made this world for you and I, There ain’t no reason to be afraid when He’s around When the night darkens and lights fade away, Waiting for a new dawn, searching for freedom! Sleepless nights, wasted time all my life Forbidden fruit holds no future The price he paid, rose again came alive Held my hand took me up and made me fly I’m gonna touch the sky, spread my wings and fly, I’m gonna show you that there’s hope for you and I. There came a man who made this world for you and I, There ain’t no reason to be afraid when He’s around.

The boy told me that it’s true; he saw the light shine right down. He told me it wasn’t late for him to regret the love He feels like an angel to be loved. He feels like the ocean’s just for him. He says no to evil that destroys, He says no to pride that ruined his gain. He feels like an angel, he feels like Angel in the sky

I try to think of all the memories and the stories that we’ve shared; We both sang and played the same song, from the time that we were born. Sometimes I think, sometimes I wonder if there were clouds and no more stars, But He’s given me everything I need, a friend to love me now. This life is worth living, try to show God’s love as much as you can. All are precious in His sight! No matter if you’re black or white He loves you just the way you are: you don’t have to be a star.
7.
Just like a fallen star, I dread an explanation I find it hard to see all the good around me. Here I lie, afraid to die, chasing shadows all my life, Intensifies my endless cries, there’s no place to hide. Heaven’s doors open wide, I see a rider stand inside, The judged are taken by His sword; His name is truth, the Word of God. White rider, pray your judgment call takes me higher, not my final fall.

Prodigal 05:59
You hear a voice that brings you relief, It echoes through misery so deep. What you have is not what you need, It’s love that has brought you this far.... Believe me by now I don't care where you've been Oh please, come be mine. I'm waiting for you to go turn back the tide, The forces of uncertainty must die. Tearing eyes, paralyzed Standing here alone What can I say that could bring you back? What do you think you’ll prove? This is not my land don't you see This son of yours can't wait I must leave My ways, I know are all that I need, My treasure now I'll take afar Spend it on pleasures that my eyes have seen You'll see, I am mine I've wanted to have it all right by my side When you're alone and the weight of your world overcomes you, and your endless need You're not a stranger! No, you deserve better- I’ll wait, patiently Tearing eyes, paralyzed; as the damned wait for paradise You believe you'll survive, how can I? Seven days, I lay awake, not to dream your bitter fate Seven candles at the gate show the way Father, your obsession’s unreal; that daring dog deserves to be dead! You gave him all! His fall was his call! I stood beside you instead The neighbours mock, our servants laugh; won’t you just let it go? Believe me by now I don't care where you've been Oh please, come be mine! Still waiting for you to go turn back the tide… You're not a stranger! No, you deserve better- I’ll wait, patiently Tearing eyes, paralyzed; as the damned wait for paradise You believe you'll survive You and I realize, on the day we reunite What was dead, once lost, will be alive!

Scarlet clouds swallow the morning light There’s a shadow in the land; All hope seems gone Oh fallen prince, had you held your head up high When the demon’s wretched strain called your name! They cower, the killing hour For a hundred screaming souls The dead of night, you're dead on sight! Now feed your fear, Warrior I'm here; I see heaven when I close my eyes Dreams that cannot die You'll see this fire burning through the darkest night Here and beyond Endangered, empowered “Welcome to hell!” they said Red knives, lost lives: Thousands on each side Failure and death closing on every side; Hot tired breath eyes open wide Miracles! I hear a whisper in the wind And a voice out of the deep, strengthens me Their valour, a waving banner! Shining light into the weakened fortress Let every man with will to stand Raise a sword! Reclaim the land! I'm here; I see heaven when I close my eyes Dreams that cannot die You'll see this fire burning through the darkest night Here and beyond Endangered, empowered “Welcome to hell!” they said Red knives, lost lives; Through darkness light will guide! Endangered, empowered “Welcome to hell!” they said Red knives, lost lives; Through darkness light will guide! I’m free now, I believe now I’m breaking every chain I’m taking my place, I’m fighting in faith: Here and beyond!

about

Here & Beyond is an album of contrasts. Classic orchestral melodies and modern metal, tunes that are infectiously catchy yet quirkily experimental, hard-hitting choruses with a beautiful uplifting message. The music is so intricately woven one hardly notices as the moods, styles and emotions shift seamlessly through each song; classical passages flavour a heavy rhythmic landscape in this perfect balance of melody and musicianship. The lyrics deal with a wide range of topics, from being yourself, to fearlessly chasing your dreams to more serious topics of forgiveness and spirituality, but it all ties together with an underlying message of making your way in the world. Taking that risk, that leap of faith, and flying!

Here & Beyond is an album of passions. Every step of the way was planned and executed by the incredibly talented young members of Slain; from the song writing and arrangements by each member, to concept scripting and lyrics by Naresh Nathan (Bass Guitarist of Slain) to the entire recording, mixing and mastering process done at Xandrin Records, run by Judah Sandhy (Vocalist of Slain), the orchestral and percussive arrangements throughout the album by Jared and Jonathan (Drummer & Keyboardist of Slain) to the stunning album artwork & packaging by Manek D’Silva (Guitarist of Slain), to planning and conceptualizing a launch show with a unique concept, one never-before attempted in India: ‘Beyond Live’, a 12-piece choir backing a power rock band; the best recognized young voices in Bangalore city, trained and conducted by the accomplished Bryden Lewis (Guitarist of Slain). "We’ve chosen to do everything ourselves- this time especially, because this album is our child, the product of 3 years of Slain. We like to think there's no one who could have raised it better. That’s the story of Here & Beyond."
